One of the things I love about fishing is every day is a new day. I moved my boat from Marblehead OH to Vermilion OH where I'll spend most of my time on or near the Sand bar which runs from a few miles off of Vermilion up to the Canadian line.
I stopped on good marks about 7 miles north of the Vermilion river, with a good chop on the water. Set started as a large dipsy off the starboard stern, #1 setting, 50 back confusion stinger. Second rod off the Port side was one of my favorites, an 800 Reef Runner flatlined 200 back. Both lures were close to the 30-35 feet down marks.
Dipsy took the first and largest fish within 5 minutes of trolling. Fish 2 & 3 came on the same rod so I pulled the RR and set a 40 jet, with a confusion stinger 75 back and it took 2 of the next 3 walleye. Six fish in less than two hours and all I really planned to do was move my boat, lol.
I'll be night fishing off Vermilion this fall so contact me if you want to go.
